How does client-side encryption work?

All secrets are encrypted in your browser using strong cryptographic methods before being sent to our infrastructure. Glassbreak never sees, stores, or processes your unencrypted data. Decryption keys remain exclusively in your control.

Because all encryption happens client-side, a breach of our infrastructure would only expose encrypted data that cannot be decrypted without your keys. We operate across two independent cloud providers today (AWS and Scaleway), each running its own stack, with a third (Azure) planned — minimizing the impact of any single breach.

The paid Team and Business plans will be billed monthly or yearly per responder seat via Stripe — responders are the people who can trigger emergencies, manage secrets, and run escalations. Members who only receive alerts and acknowledge them are free and unlimited on paid plans, and annual billing saves 17%. Paid billing is rolling out during early access, so today you can start free and request early access to the paid plans; the free plan has no time limit. Enterprise plans are custom-priced based on your organization's needs — contact our sales team for a quote.

Can I switch plans at any time?

The paid Team and Business plans are launching with a 30-day free trial, and billing isn't live yet during early access. Once it is, cancelling within the trial period means you won't be charged; after the trial, charges for the current billing period are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time to prevent future charges.

What if I lose access to my encryption keys?

Glassbreak cannot recover your secrets if you lose your encryption keys — this is by design to ensure zero-knowledge security. We strongly recommend setting up quorum-based recovery with multiple trusted team members so that key loss by one person doesn't lock out the entire team.

Your encrypted data is replicated across two independent cloud providers — AWS (us-east-1, United States) and Scaleway (fr-par, Paris) today, with a third (Microsoft Azure) planned. Each provider runs a dedicated, always-on server with its own in-box PostgreSQL database, kept consistent by native streaming replication, so your data survives the loss of an entire provider. Glassbreak is an Australian company; the Service is governed by our Terms.
